Privacy Policy

1. How your personal data is used

Your Musical Journey is committed to protecting the personal data that you provide in written or electronic form. This data will be used i. to register you as a student/family, ii. for fee and tax purposes, including recovering any monies owed, iii. for internal correspondences during your time with us.

 

Your data will not be shared with third parties except with your express consent; for example, external examinations or performance administration. 

2. Data Security

Security measures have been put in place to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way. Data access is limited to employees or contractors of Your Musical Journey. Procedures are in place in the event of a data breach. You and the relevant regulators will be informed where legally required to do so. Where possible, your data will be anonymised or identifiable by initials. Some data will be stored and accessible to external company employees on platforms that comply with GDPR such as My Musical Staff and the online platform used. Please visit their privacy policies for how they protect your data. 

3. Data Retention

Your data will only be kept for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose that it was collected for before being deleted/destroyed. Data stored for tax and accounting purposes will be on file for a period of 6 years, even after you have stopped being a student. You can request a copy of your data or that your data be removed by contacting us at yourmusicaljourney@yahoo.com.  

4. Keeping your data up to date

The data that you provide must be kept up to date. A new form will be provided each academic year. Your data can be manually updated on My Musical Staff or by emailing us at any time. Please let us know as soon as possible of any changes. 

5. Complaints 

If you are unhappy with how we use and store your data, please contact us. We will respond within one month and do our best to resolve the issue. You can also complain to the ICO if you are unhappy with how we have used your data.
